We’ve got fresh enhancements in Beeper 🖥️ Desktop v3.78.23 that’ll make chatting across your networks more natural AND more fun.
The latest version of Beeper Desktop is available now, with full release notes here. Go to ⚙️ Settings » Help & About » Check for Update to unlock your brand-new superpowers.
💬 Enhanced Read Receipts
We improved how the status of your DMs appear, keeping you updated as messages go from sending, to delivered, and read.
Read receipts now match how each native chat network does it. Aligning these Beeper elements with the native networks’ styling makes your experience more natural and familiar—a good thing if you ask us!
The new receipt styles are ON by default in the latest version of Beeper Desktop. Go to ⚙️ Settings » Preferences » Timeline » Use network-specific read receipt style = OFF for the the old receipt styles.

🙌🏽 Emoji Skin Tones
Emoji with skin tone options can now be selected when drafting a message in the Composer bar: Sticker icon » Emojis » hover over a supported emoji.
☝🏽 The skin tone you select will become the default for the emoji picker, quick reactions, and composer auto-complete [i.e. typing colon (:) and the emoji’s name].
🖼️ Media Uploads
Photo and video previews are now shown in the Composer when you attach or drag a file into your chat.
🪄 Refreshed Styling
✔️✔️ Instead of blue checks, the “All Messages Read” checkmarks in the Inbox view are now black checks on the light theme and white checks on the dark theme.
🎞️ Menus now animate when opening them (e.g the emoji picker, right-clicking a message, etc.)

🖥️ Update & Enhance!
Please add Spaces panel, guys! I'm still on Element because of missing Spaces :(
I can’t believe you’ve just dropped support for High Sierra. So frustrating! We can’t all afford brand new Macs and it was such a boon that it worked with my 2010 iMac… but this feels like a real kick in the teeth. Please consider continuing support for 10.13.
