Any updates on when RCS will be available? SMS is the last thing I need to migrate before I can use Beeper for everything!! But want to hold off until there is RCS support
It'd be great to have a button that redirected us to the native installed application.
This would reduce the pain point of having to manually switch whenever we want a feature that Beeper doesn't yet support. e.g. Initiating phone calls, creating group chats etc.
Beeper's Desktop app, being an Electron app, shows high memory usage, regardless of the number of Chat Networks and Active Conversation Threads via those Chat Networks.
Is your team considering optimising helper app i.e. Beeper Renderer and GPU Helper somewhere down the line in future?
ClickUp's Desktop app was a memory and cpu hog, until their team rewrote the entire app from scratch to fix high memory and cpu usage (by optimising it, for more 'efficient performance' that's light on laptop battery life)
This app is getting better very quickly over these last couple months. Very impressive. I applied to a couple open positions over the Holidays and would still like to be a part of your team!
I just received my invite, so I just installed and started using it on Desktop + Android across multiple chat bridges. Prior to this, I've been using the Sunbird app on Android just for iMessaging. I do have to say, Beeper works a lot better than Sunbird. Beeper seems to be way more reliable, especially with receiving messages. Keep up the good work!
I'm wondering if you plan to support Threema. Is there some reason you do not - or cannot? I use it heavily both at home (Threema) and at work (Threema Work), and having support for it in Beeper would be perfect!
Beeper needs to automatically detect if someone has rcs or iMessage and be be able to resort back to sms if the receiver doesn't have one of those two. Booth Google messages and iMessage function this way. It would be nice if all of my current text threads would just convert over to iMessage for iPhone users or rcs for Google message friends. This would be the best feature of any messaging app trying to bridge the android/iPhone gap and even a necessity in my opinion.
State of the App (Spring 2023)
Microsoft Teams would be a big plus for me. It is the only app that is missing for us to be able to consolidate all of our IM channels in one place.
