I'm skeptical that it took so long to reverse the iMessage protocol in ten years - I'm sure the work had been done before, but legal strongarming got in the way. I fully expect Apple lawyers to have a DMCA, lawsuit and injunction motion sealed, signed and delivered by Monday in response to Beeper Mini in a high-key attempt to stop users from breaking free from the Apple ecosystem. I'm gonna download the app in case this does happen. It's just too revolutionary. If this app survives a week, feel free to take my money.
